Should be able to find a engine hoist at a rental place pretty easy.
W56 transmissions with a t-case should be a dime a dozen.
A w56 transmission should hold up to 200 hp pretty easy and the 5mge pushes only over 150hp.
The plus of the 4cyl t-case is less expensive gear reduction options and or dual cases.
I mean hold out if you want to mod your tranny but sourcing a w56 would get you done alot faster.

If you decide to put in gear reduction in your chain-drive T-case there are far less options and they will cost you more than just changing it out to a 4cyl gear case. Just thought I would throw that one by you too.

If you plan on boosting your 5mge then all means keep your r series transmission and mod it then build it up swap it in at a later time.

I might be committing a crime, but I think I might actually be passing this car on to yet another owner. Don't worry though, he's only using it for parts.

Ya those triple weber carbs were like $400 a piece for my buddy.

So, my parts car got fscking impounded today because it was parked on a street unregistered.

Now do I let the impound scrap it or do I get it out and salvage the engine, diff, and wheels?

Fsck I have shpoopie luck

And the seller gave me the wrong vin# so the impound doesn't want to give it to me.
