I'm not the best with electrical stuff so could someone help me understand this fuel pump kill switch a little better please?

Which numbers on the relay would each wire correspond too? i.e. 87, 85 etc...or is it not that kind of relay? What kind of relay do I use? And for the hard-wire bypass, would I splice into that with a regualar wire splice thing?

Forget the relay stuff. Find the 2 wires running from the fuel pump. Wire your on/off switch into those wires. Hide switch, and your done. Trust me, I've done this on every vehicle I've ever owned. It takes longer to find the wires, than it does to tap into 'em, and hide the switch.

Ah I forgot to ask that question lol I was gunna ask whether I could skip the relay and just throw a switch in there lol so I guess that answers that question. What kinda switch? Just a regular switch like what I used for my Hellas?

Yup. Just a simple on/off toggle switch.

Hope the link kinda explained things better than I could have.

Basicly if you want to run something like a pair of driving lights, electric fan or something that pulls a good amount of power then by all means ALWAYS use a relay. In the case of your fuel pump it's up to you but like a4runnerfreak stated a regular toggle switch will be just fine for a fuel pump cut off. Just make sure to use a decent quality switch.

Hmm... What would work for a 22r with a mechanical pump? Choke cutoff switch?

Try a switch in the starter solenoid wire. Acts like a weak battery and the engine won't turn over.

I used to build my kill switches into the cigarette lighter back in the day. Now I see that you can buy aftermarket cigarette lighter kill switches.

I don't put my kill switches in the fuel circuit myself. I prefer either going into the main starter wire with a relay or the solenoid wire. Just my preference. Any type of a decent well hidden kill switch is always a good thing as your vehicle will most likely not be taken. You may have a broken window & ignition though.

He actually already e-mailed that too me when I ordered my e-locker switch and wiring harness. I just am not the best at electronics lol maybe you or someone could help me with this kill switch as I'd rather have a kill switch that won't even start the truck. A fuel pump kill switch will still let a thief start it and drive down the road a little ways I think....right?

What does it mean when it says key side of starter and motor side of starter?

Uh... no. Just cutting the power to the choke pull-off coil would only make it hard to start and keep running when cold.
Interrupting the ignition system would be the best bet.
I mean, if someone is trying to steal the rig, letting the starter crank would be a good 'delay' since they would have to crank, and crank, and crank, and crank, and.... You get my drift. And if the switch would sound the horn when the engine is cranking and the switch is disabling the ignition would be kind of funny.

Then again, I've found nothing easier or cheaper to disable a vehicle than pulling the coil wire from the vehicle and taking it inside with you after you park. 99% of vehicle theives do not carry a spare primary ignition wire with them.

With the fuel pump switch, the engine will only burn what fuel is in the fuel line. Yes, the truck MIGHT start, and if it did, it would die within 2-3 seconds. And then just crank...

Ever since I've been droppin a bunch of money on my truck with lots of nice goodies, I'm paranoid about it bein stolen. lol

lol, if you wanna do a similar thing for non efi theres a fuel cutoff on the carb im sure you can tap into and supply power to it with a switch wich would cut off fuel to the carb, not sure if it would burn off the fuel in the bowl er not tho....

Ive been thinking about wiring in one of those trailer breakaway switches to my starter solenoid or fuel pump circuit. that way there's no switch that a thief could find. All I would have to do is pull the pin. Those breakaway switches are also weather proof so I wouldn't even have to mount it in the cab. wouldn't want to make it easy on them
