Nothing against saving some money, but keep in mind if your mod fails the computer will falter with the additional air being sucked through and you'll most likely be walking home or getting really creative with the duct tape.

Anyone here plan on doing a dyno run to see what kinda numbers an ISR mod puts out compared to stock?

Kinda flimsy mod to be paying for dyno runs dont you think?

Its pretty much proven you wont gain many or any horsepower. You will gain some throttle response since the air is no longer having to travel through a silencer before it enters the engine.

Yeah, I can't imagine you're gonna gain any real HP. The restriction at the TB isn't gettin' any bigger. And I would think it would take some exhaust mods to see the real benefits of the improved flow. They would compliment each other, it's a "greater than the sum of the 2 parts" type deal. Not really worth doing either without the other, when you think about it. Anyway, I started with my exhaust(ALOT can be done there, comparitively). I'll get around to this ISR thing-a-ma-jig here eventually. I bet I stand more chance of gaining noticeable power from it. Still couldn't be much without boring out your TB, which is probably more likely to gain you anything. ISR or not.

I could understand it, but I highly doubt anyone would buy dyno time for an isr mod even the k&n only claims a few hp.

check out this link:

http://www.gadgetonline.com/AirInduction.htm

this guy did some research with a few cheap mods as well as doing dyno runs before and after each mod.

Awesome!
My results showed that opening the front of the air box made the most power, followed extremely close by just removing the elbow. These two configurations and the completely stock box beat the FIPK.
I need to do the ISR because my air cleaner hose is deteriorating as we speak. I'm in less of a hurry now. Might as well get the most out of the stock parts while they last, ya know?
