Front end noise

Front end noise
I have a 92 toyota pick up with the v6 5 spd manual transmission. When driving the truck I get a growling sound. Seems to be coming from the front left tire. It comes and going and seems to stop or start again if I hit a bump with the front left tire. Truck has new ball joints, tie rods, pitman arm, idler arm. I can't figure out what this is. Any help or ideas would be great thanks guys!

I would check to make sure your hub isn't maybe locked. Get a tire in the air and check to see if your bearings have and play, or did you do those also? Just start with an overall inspection of the brakes and front end parts.

i would hazard a guess aswell to the hub, could be partially engaged or some bearings on their way out. Doubtful but possibly CV, if the boot is torn and some road grime gets in there it will make noise eventually.

If you have the automatic locking differential (ADD) might have a look at the steering knuckle bushings also. Kind of going thru this same thing on my 94, but with the passenger side. Almost positive mine is the bushings. Waiting on a good day to pull the halfshaft and regrease it first and see if that helps. All the parts run about 180 or less (both sides) depending on if one goes the needle bearing route. In the link posted he is using a shorter inner knuckle bushing to accomodate the needle bearing. If not using the needle bearing you would use a longer inner knuckle bushing (90381-30006).

I don't have any play I the tire at all when it's up in the air. I was thinking bearing as well. I do have manual locking hubs. If one if partially locked in wouldn't it make noise all the time? My 4wd still works great and I still get the same noise when I m in 4wd. I'll take it apart and look at the bearings maybe see if I can grease them and see if it helps.
