Finiky IDLE! advice?
hey guys...
i was wondering if you could help me find out what i need to do to fix my idle problem...?
its been acting up ever since i "ATTEMPTED" to fix my leaky valve covers...
fist i though it was some mixed up vacuum lines, got a diagram, checked mine, swapped around a few lines that i mixed up and thought it should be back to normal....
it wasent.
now its doing this almost all of the time now, its really pissing me off.
heres whats happening..
when i first start the truck up in the morning it revs up to 1500rpm and then goes down to 500 and it keeps going back and forth untill you take off and drive.. once the motor warms up it usually idles fine, but every once and a while it will do this...
^^^this has been happening more recently lately.. thats why im forced to post this..
(note that the only time it holds stady in the video is because or me)
it surges between say 200-300rpm and after a couple times of going back and forth it will stall out.
heres what im thinking..
1) new fuel filter?
2) i need to raise my idle (but why would i need to do that? its not like i changed any settings when i did the valve covers...)
3) fuel pump maby going bad??? < please say no...
theres no vacuum leaks.
thanks for any info/ suggestions!...

Have you adjusted or messed with your TPS at all?
Make sure there isn't a tear in your intake... the extra air could be messing with the computer. Maybe you tore it (they get weak) when doing your maintenance?
Just throwing out some ideas.
