A few questions before I finish my Head Gasket.
I've just about wrapped up my HG replacement and wound up with a few loose ends. While I have it all apart I also want to change the water pump and was wondering if someone could point me to a really good one. I found a new bosch and was wondering if this was the best I could get?
I've decided to reuse the oil pump since it's an aisin and the pressure was fine when I started this project.
Since I had used block sealer prior to the teardown, I changed the heater core out and also want to change the radiator. I need someone to tell me what is the difference in use from a $80 one to a $200 one? I want a good one but don't want to waste a lot of money on a woods truck. Can someone point me in the right direction of the best radiator for a non DD?
I'm also going to pull the oil pan last and get all the gunk out of it. When I put it back on, am I going to need an oil pan gasket (kinda having trouble finding one) or will it seal with RTV?
The last question I have concerns the hoses. When I pulled the top off the engine I just took all the hoses loose without labeling them. I kinda did it that way on purpose since I wasn't sure whether they were all in the right place to start with. I have a good decal under the hood to go by, but was wondering if I could get a few detailed pics of someones truck to show me where they all go. I can trace the diagrams if I have to, but wanted to go the easy way if possible.
Thanks.

Bosch? I wouldn't say it's the best, but it's probably fine. There's not much to a water pump...really. It's definitely better than cheap, China made aftermarkets. But, people have even had good luck with those. Top notch are Aisin and Rock (which engnbldr.com sells).
Search radiator on the forum and you'll get a lot of good suggestions for reliable and economical radiators. I got one from radiatorwarehouse out of Memphis. It's been very good...and it was pretty cheap.
RTV will work fine, but why not just get a gasket? It's easier and not that expensive. Either way, though.
The hoses.....hmmm, you should have labeled or taken pics. What do you have? 22RE or 3VZE?

Its a 22re. The reason I didn't label them was because I suspected a problem already and wanted to make sure it was right when I'm done. Kinda start from scratch, since a lot of things on this truck were half a$$ed when I got it and I'm trying to make it right. The oil pan gasket is no big deal, I was just wondering if I could do without it.

Yes you can definitely do without the oil pan gasket. In fact, Toyota did not use a oil pan gasket on the 85 and up engines. The best gasket makers are Toyota's FIPG or Permatex Right Stuff. Both are $10-$15.
As for the photo's, I found one on this thread. https://www.yotatech.com/forums/f116...ne-kit-129865/

All I was saying was since you don't know some or many of them could have in the right spot. And atleast you'd have a reference. It's just the way I would have done it, but whatever gets the job done.
That Toyota gasket maker is the schnit.
