Yes its normal. When you pull off of the highway, the engine is no longer being cooled by 70mph wind. Thus, the fan clutch engages and you hear the familiar whirring sound of the fan

I don't think the clutch is stuck or else I would hear it all the time. Plus I can hear the clutch in lock up when it is started cold and then lossen up after 30-45 seconds or so, as it should. Also it will lock up when you run the A/C, as it should. But driving around town it doesn't do it, noticably at least. If you sit at a light for a while or sit idling for whatever reason it will lock up, because it's sitting, and you can hear it when you start to go, but then comes off again in a few seconds, all normal. I just though it was weird that it was locking up and coming on at 70mph with all that air moving across the engine. What makes it lock up and disengage anyway, I heard once that there is some kind of gel or something in the clutch that is temp activated and gets thicker and thinner with/without heat? Does your temperature gauge read hotter when you're at highway speeds?
