Does Toyota use any 9mm nuts or bolts on the 2 gen 4Runner?

This might be a strange question so let me explain?.

I have a reasonably good selection of tools in my shed but it takes time to find the right size socket in the draws of my tool chest, plus other people borrow them and don't put them back in the right place! So I bought some extra socket sets to keep in one of the side lockers of my truck. 3 sets in 1/4, 3/8 and 1/2 inch drive made by Teng Tools (good quality Japanese). http://www.tengtools.com/default.aspx
Really nice red boxes that keep the tools secure and well organised.

Anyhow between these three sets (MR1221, MR3824 & M1422) I can cover sizes 4mm to 19mm with just one gap at 9mm. So I'm just wondering if 9mm is used at all on our 4runners and if I need to carry a 9mm socket with me.

The larger 1/2 inch drive set has extra sockets in 21,22,24,27,30,32mm. I know the Diff drain plugs are 24mm, but I can't see the other sizes getting much use and it would be pointless filling in any gaps in the larger range until I know there is a need for a certain size.

Thanks in advance.

Paul, UK

I've never needed a 9mm yet. I think everything with Toyota is either 8, 10, 12, 14, 17 or 19.

I came across 16mm bolts on my 2nd gen, which surprised me for sure, as I think I only have 1 of those sockets!

Yup, that's like 99% of all the OEM bolts and 24mm for the driveline drain and fill plugs. The antenna on my '91 takes a 7mm IIRC, but nothing else comes to mind. I do have some non-JIS metric bolts that take 16mm and a few SAE bolts.

If you stay with the stock bolts - if you have to order any, the same size bolt/thread will require a different wrench
