What^? Yuo dont ahve to do that. I have abodylift so it made it easier to get to everything. But you dont have to remove anything...unless your going for a candy apple red show frame ;-) But if its just a DD/wheeler and your looking to protect form rust..do as i said.

I just cleaned mine off a bit and hit it with gloss black tremclad/rustolium.
I didnt really prep it very well. I love the glossy look, but I did the skids in flat black.

You can do it in mine, my parents don't care at all. I spray paint so much in my driveway its not even funny. From a physics project i have 5 meter intervals sprayed out.
I think i am going to coat my frame with some rust stop, then go over with rustoleum.

hey man personally i would just clean it all off with some degreaser( chemtool) and then scuff it up with some steel wool.. Then go to your local auto parts store and by some underlining and spray it with that. That way it is nice and black and tough.

I will second the spray it all with oil and forget about paint. Its the only way to help keep rust down. Maybe where there isn't winter for 5 months and snow and salt and ice for 5 months it wouldn't be bad but if I paint my box gloss black rustolium in the fall with a brush heavy and by the time spring rolls around half of it is gone and rust is in its place. Spraying the inside and outside of your frame, and panels is the best way to keep it rust free. Undercoating will only hide the rust and when it shows up it will be too late. As most of us know the frames rust from the inside out so painting the oilside of the frame really wont do that much anyways other than make it look pretty. What you should do every spring after the salt is gone is get that hose right inside the frame rail and get the truck on an angle and hose it right out. You would be suprised at how much rust comes out. Then after you did that and have let it dry out spray it full of oil and put the plugs on. I do an oil change in the fall before winter starts and spray all my used oil inside my frame and fenders with a cheap oil gun I bought for $10. Works well but the oil must be warm to flow through the gun.
