Digital Thermometer Install
I have always wanted a thermometer in my 1st gen Runner to read the outside temp. My wife's Outback has one, all my friends have them, I have thermometer envy....
Picked this thing up from Kragen tonight for $6.99 plus tax, my three year old and I were out of the house to let the wife take a break, wondering the isles of Kragen at 7:00 at night:

It runs on a AAA battery, no wiring into the rig necessary. I has a light in it, but it is weak. Daylight use only, for the most part.
It has this hinged mounting plate that I shoved behind the molding at the top of the windshield. You have to pull the molding down a bit to get it in there, it holds it really tight:

Installed it here:
Ran the wire along the molding at the top of the windshield, down the A-pillar, into the dash, down to the rubber firewall grommet for the hood release...:
...along the hood release cable, behind the D-side headlight, and stuck the sensor here:
It reads inside/outside and has a clock. Not that I need that, the dash has a clock and the radio has a clock, I'm swimming in clocks, just not enough thermometers, or horsepower, or money, or time, but more than enough clocks.
