dash lights - brake - battery - at oil temp

hello
i have a 1993 toyota 4x4 3.0L with Automatic trans.

this is my sons truck. he first mentioned that the brake light was coming on sometimes. i figured it was just a switch.

last weekend i helped him change the oil on the truck. after we finished i started it up and noticed the battery, brake & AT oil temp ight all on.

he said up until right then, he had never noticed the other 2 lights.. just the brake light.

this AT oil temp light is on all the time, even when the vehicle has just been started after sitting overnight. i did check the fluid and it is at the correct hot level.

i searched the forum and found a lot of info about the brake & battery light being on all the time and that it is my alternator going out.

is it possible that the AT oil light can also be a symptom of the failing alternator?

thank you

Yes, the AT oil light comes on with a bad alternator. I can about guarantee that the alternator is your problem.

No problem. Most of the time, the alternator brushes are the culprit. You can buy the brushes for a couple of dollars, or you can buy the brushes pre-soldered into the holder for about $15-$20.
