dang, broken stuff.

Well it must be the beginning of the end. The other day I noticed a dime sized spot of oil under the truck and yesterday the tailgate handle broke. I guess these things are only supposed to go 176,000 miles before things start to go wrong. *grin*

On a more serious note I can't for the life of me tell where the oil leak is coming from. It seems to be on the drivers side of the motor (22re, 5 speed, 1986 version) but it doesn't seem to be very big. The intake gasket is still good, at least I think it's still good since it looked ok when I did the valve adjustment and I just left it in there. Any tips for finding an elusive oil leak other than cleaning the heck out of the motor and letting it idle while you look?

Thanks cats!

are you sure it's oil and not PS fluid?
if it is oil and you've got a lot of seepage around the valve cover, that'd be my first guess
