haha good luck with that. There IS a reason it has not been done yet you know.

I think a I have en EVEN BETTER redneck idea!

Why not just get your little brother to sit under the hood and blow into the intake. I bet he could generate 2-3 PSI!

Viola! Supercharger.

as long as there is a net yield of power (output wattage of the engine verses input wattage of the leaf blower/hobby motor), it'll work. how effectivley, time will tell. if it works, me being an electrician and all, I'll be sure to perform this mod.

but speaking of redneck, why all the fancy batteries and alternators?

I'd just bust out my trusty ol' two stroke leaf blower and put a long throttle cable on it into the cab. controllable boost AND that great two stroke smell. could run it for dirt cheap, hook it up dirt cheap, and be unique and one of a kind! I think I may try it now that I said it...

No...not regulate, measure. It is an instrument for measuring air flow. The ECU uses its input (along with other sensors) to adjust the fuel for a proper air/fuel ratio.

This won't work and reallly won't be worth the trouble but if you can prove me wrong then i love to be wrong but I've seen this tried and never have seen real working results.

actually, it will work. i saw this thread and decided to try it for myself.

i just made a tutorial with before and after dyno runs, as well as a step-by-step video write up.

all with only $150 dollars and 8 hours!

The IDEA WILL work.

But, to the OP, no way that ducted fan flows enough air to make a difference. Think about the output of a leaf blower, then compare to the output of that little plane motor. HUGE difference...

elripster hit all the high points. you're gonna have to have high voltage to have the motor make enough power and be a reasonable size, and then it's going to take a reasonably complex system to have that charge off the alternator AND be isolated from the rest of the car so you don't fry something.

i thought about an electronic supercharger. it was bs. i would not reccommend these. especially since these 3.0l are not exactly meant for the forced induction stuff. there is a 4runner, which managed to get 4 psi boost with 3 of what motors and fans you are talking about, he was also running a bigger alternator and 4 yellow tops!!!. that is a lot of $$$$$$$$$$.

W.O.M. = Waste of Money
