Question computer codes how to

how do i get a reading of any faults in a 88 toy, 4x4 sr5 ?

is this a 1st gen

what are some key things to know about

im saving for headers, but what other bolt on upgrades are there

just flip the picture 180* and that is what it will look like in your engine bay. jsut use a piece of wire and turn your ign to the 'on' position. dont start it.

count the flashes.

Ex) flash, then pauses for 2.5secs, flash,flash,flash,flash. taht is a code 1-4 or 14.

I had to take pictures of my owners manual, hopefully they are legible...
if there is anythign you cannot read let me know and ill do my best to help you. everything i told you up there about wait to watch the flashes still applies

If your check engine light isn't on, there are no fault codes stored in the ECM.

If it is on, you get to jump the TE+E1 terminals and then count the blinks of the check-engine light.

There can be codes stored without enough to trip the CEL. Always good to check just incase.

exactly, im having a problem with code 14 right now and mine did not trip the CEL.

we had to check it ourselves...
