Cold acceleration problem (more info)
I posted a while back that my 88 4Runner would run lousy when cold (like a cylinder wasn't firing) then smooth out and run fine after warming up. Idled rough and accelerated poorly (like taking off in a high gear) while shuddering.
I got lots of good advice, including the cold start injector. I unhooked that and the truck would not start at all, so I assumed it to be working fine and have lived with the problem since, as other suggestions are beyond my wrenching ability at this point.
Hewe's what has me scratching my head:
The last couple days here have been sub-freezing following two snowstorms, with mornings in the teens and the truck has started and run cold without a problem.
Before that if the temps were in the 30s and above is when the problem would strike.
I don't know if that extra info helps anyone with mechanical experience narrow the issue.
Thanks in advance for any info you might have.
Happy Holidays!

I'm sticking with some of my original speculations for the time being:
coolant temp sensor (green plug, front of intake manifold), Idle Air Valve / Auxilary Air Valve (under the throttle body), ignition timing
and going to add transmission fluid?
