Code 63 help

I was posting this thread in the wrong room so i am moving it here in it's proper place.
I have a 94 toyota 4runner 2x4 v6 in which is starting in 3rd. I was told from seller that this truck just needed the valve cover gaskets changed which i did, power steering belt (v belt ) which i did , and a speed control sensor which i did but did not help the last problem i need to overcome so i took it to mr transmission just to get a code which was code 63. It starts in 3rd.
from other pages i was told to check throttle position sensor first. if i replace this will the speedo start working again. I hope that will help start car in 1st and 2nd gear to. Next step could be to clean solenoid 1 and 2 or replace torque converter without contaminating it. I was of course told by mr transmission that it would only cost me 2500 to fix the transmission, not including surprise fees and other parts. I do not have this kind of cash so I am trying to fix the little stuff first. The engine is strong, sounds good and would love to get this truck going so any help here and suggestions would be great.

Check your other thread on this, already answered that it is a defective #2 shift solenoid and your transmission shop is trying to screw you over bigtime!!
