Blown 90 3vze Swapping A 92 In
Hey new member here, been reading some stuff up here and there for awhile.Had to join to get some answers though.
I got a 92 engine last week. I've been noticing lots of differences. Now i've read about newer 4runners trying to get older engines in. How about an older 4runner receiving a newer engine?
I've read about the knock sensor and the wire rotting. Yeah, my old one is like that. Yes the connectors are different. The heater sensor crap is different as well as the throttle sensor. I've swaped out the throttle sensor rewired the knock sensor, well okay took the connector off the new engine and hooked it to my wire harness. All i have left is the distributor. Now i was going to swap mine in there but i'm not sure it'll fit. I lost my old one, i'll find it somewere though. I"m conrened about my ecu working with the newer engine and well maybe it went out with the engine?
The engine hsa been blown since the first days of april. I've come a long stressful and money eating journey to finally get to the point of getting a new engine. I need to get this thing running again, and soon. Thanks a lot in advance.

Greetings, I have a 94 3.0 in my 89. had to change plugs for the TPS, Distributor, Knock Sensor, temp sensor and mine runs fine. Just remember that the distributor wires DO NOT match color to color so dont match them or it will spit and spudder (first hand experience).
