All the JDM vehicles are required road flares out here, its part of our JCI inspection...but yea some vehicles definitely have better quality than there american spec brother, but when you get into the Toyotas or Nissans that have Lexus and Infiniti models in the states, the quality sucks....just FYI...

I will keep an eye out for that Left Rear Fender Flare. Your truck is gray like mine right?

JDM is just simply THE !!!

so i'm geussing your head was swapped to the 2.8litre (3L) head?
should think of getting a turbo timer for it. is yours auto of 5-speed?

i don't have a block heater in my truck. my truck started everytime. although it is a bit colder in ontario than here in van, bc. i only have one battery as well, don't find it being a problem with all my extra lights, and my 10" sub.

the reason JDM vehicle's are so clean is cuz of the low milage... they're not drive'n as much. japan is a small island. mine currently has 72,000. it was very minty when i got it. and i paid $20,000 for my hilux. considering landed cost was $16,000 and over $8,000 and lot's of time have been spent on it. although i have a HILUX not a HILUX Surf. seems the HILUX's are always more money.

here's my thread about my truck. the first 4 pics of it are from the day i brought her home.
https://www.yotatech.com/forums/f116...-hilux-149879/

nice to see another JDM ride!!

The reason for low mileage isnt that japan is small, cause it really isnt that small, just okinawa is, but it gets more and more expensive to JCI a car over 70,000 kilometers. So what do they do with all those cars when they hit 70,000 they either a; turn them into auctions for export or b; sell them to the thousands of US service members stationed in japan. Which is good for you guys in canada and good for the service members because we get pretty mint used cars. Now if only the US would lighten up on its import laws, i can import my Japanese spec GSXR, but not my Surf. Makes no sense to me. And i can't really complain about the pricing either, maybe for export its pretty expensive, but my hilux surf cost only $360 here in okinawa...just because of the door being smashed in. I just really wish i waited and bought a diesel hilux instead of a v6 hilux....

i drove it for 100km tonight to test it and i like the turbo diesel.. yes it has the toyota factory upgrade head..he said they did it before it left japan..

also timing kit was done

it wont win many races but i love the torque and the sunroof is huge...prolly gonna put my 2 kickers in the back.. but it may be too nice for that even!
thermostat stays half way even up a big hill.. im gonna get a mechanical one and a pyrometer!

i think you should have held out for the 3.0 I6 or I4 turbo diesel and intercooled it. you would have much happier with power, i cant believe the difference from the 2lt to the 1kz-te

I cant explain how much i love my surf..

i drove 70kilometers today and the diesel gauge didnt move!!
the torque and turbo are great and enough power for me.never runs above half on the thermometer.. got my subs and sirius in so i can listen to howard

ok guys buckle your belt dialup bewarned!!

although some think im crazy for buying a 1991.. its cleaner than some of the 96-00 4runners i went and looked at... and I couldnt tell you how many conversations my truck has started in the first 3 days...more than any of my previous yotas..

my transfer case has a little motor on the back of it..must be for the push button 4wd..
AGAIN DIALUP TURN AWAY AND ENJOY

bad fender flare i need to fix..damaged in the crate on its way over from japan
