BIG T's 91 turbo diesel hilux surf

well .
i didnt it.
i was looking for a daily driver and fell in love with a gen 2 4runner for the 3rd time..
it has been in canada for over a year NO WINTERS.. has the upgraded head so no issues there.. and besides some damage to a fender flare from shipping she is MINT

108 000km

4.88 gears lsd huge sunroof and a big f'in smile on my and passers by face as they see this unique truck..

it needed front pads and a idler arm for saftey.

i will not be offroading this much.. but atleast it will tow my other runner ALOT BETTER THAN A 22re lol

30 mpgs here i come!

I am doing a front mount. That way I don't have to get a body lift and I can fit a much larger cooler up front. My core is 24''x5.5''x2.5''. Couldn't fit that on top of the motor. I've got the 1kz-te in my truck and not the 2LTE though. That may make a difference.

And also one thing to check for an install if you haven't got one yet is a block heater. On my motor it was not possible so I put on a lower rad hose heater but on yours there is a frost plug right behind the starter that will take a block heater. You will probably want to have that put in before January. You shouldn't have much problem starting in the cold as unplugged mines good till around -30 but its still easier on the motor to plug it in. And one more thing is make sure your cooling system is in top notch shape because those motors are notorious for cracking their heads. Just letting you know of all the things I have learnt since starting in with the Toyota diesels.

I think it'd look nice with a 4" downpipe to a 4" straight pipe to a 5-7" tip. Haha, sorry, I come from the Cummins world

Not too terribly familiar with yall's diesel situation up there, but if yall have the ULSD (ultra low sulfur diesel) and the motor was designed for LSD, you'll be wanting to buy some additive (I use Diesel Kleene) to throw in with every fill-up. Will give you back some lubricity that the low sulfur count takes away, and boost your cetane number, while keeping your motor clean. Diesel Kleen / Power Kleen also has a winter mix to help keep your fuel from gelling in the below freezing temps. That and a block heater will really make your life a lot less stressful.

I'd definitely intercool it. Lower EGTs = better mpg for the most part. That and get yourself a nice flowing air filter something like what amsoil or afe offers.

Just my two cents. Other than that, nice ride!

yo its left hand rear fender flare.. like the driver side on my CANADIAN $RUNNER but passsenger on this one..

the guy assured me the head was upgraded and the cooling system is top notch!!.. i might get a lower rad heater for ease of install but i garage this baby anyways!!

i got a really good deal...im in for 9 grand with taxes plates everything!!
alot for a old car but its like a new truck ill snap some pics after i stop smiling!!

i fill it up with sunoco gold diesel and the previous owner is giving me 100s of pages of information and everything on sunday when he comes over...he said he added a additive everytank and never had a issue cold starting it but he didnt drive it in the winter last year only when no salt was on the road.
SHOULD I PUT ON MY CHROME YOTA RIMS AND WHITE WALL BFGS??

or keep these

def not putting on the 32 mudkingz they are too beat up for this nice ride

it needed front pads and idler arm and they used a idler arm for a left hand drive i assume only took and hour!

its in my driveway and im going to get it filled up right now!!
