Just a little background on this. I was in a deep mud hole with the front almost straight up when the noise started. The truck ran started , idled and ran fine afterwards. Only drove it about a mile after this started. I changed the oil and there was hardly any shaving in it.
The water pump is tight. Timing belt seems good . No2 (upper) pulley has some wiggle in the bearings. Plugs were black from carbon along with tops of cylinder heads( looking through spark plug hole). Visually the camshaft looks fine.
