94 4runner 3.0 power steering issues
So this is my first post on this forums, hopefully im in the correct spot.
I have a moderate leak in my 94 4Runner 3.0 V6, so I replaced the power steering pump and I still have a slight leak when the steering is under load and it is coming from the PS pump area. Installed new o ring to reservoir, new copper washers to the union bolt and new hose clamp to the return hose into the reservoir.
I noticed also that my air control valve had been broken and the previous owner had JB welded it and its not holding. I thought that this was vacuum only. Does fluid go through here or not? If this is not the source I am at a total loss as to what to do...

I just replaced the pump and both lines on my '95, and when I was in there, removed the air control valve and replaced it with a threaded bolt. I have not noticed and issues since by-passing this, so it is an option. You might be able to use a thread sealer if yours is leaking, and you can also just loop a piece of vacuum line from one port to the other to by-pass it. After reading what a broken valve can do to the engine, I decided I could live without it. Also, you did use the right fluid, correct? Mine was filled with power steering fluid, which caused all the mess in the first place.
