ok so it's been a while....

bracket welded super stiff
extended master cyl rod
extended slave rod

nothing works. or well.

when I extended the slave rod the clutch disengaged but wouldn't grab enough to hold...

when I extended the master rod nothing

bracket feels good and stiff now, even though it was not cracked.

so Im wondering if I have the wrong clutch, pressure plate, flywheel???
since these are the third ones they gave me since the other two sets were wrong.

so my plan now is to go down to the wrecker and get a stock clutch pressure plate and fly
and see if it works...

any other idears?

oh another question

how far does your clutch fork travel when pedal is engaged to the floor ?

mine moves about half an inch but looks like it could move a hole inch and a half?

I don't know how far mine moves, but I can say that I've installed a few clutches that had defective pressure plates and had the same symptoms that you've listed. The fingers on the pressure plate were too weak and would flex, not allowing the plate to lift off the friction disk. Are you saying your slave cylinder is only pushing your fork a half inch?

at the point where the slave meets the fork it only travels 1/2 inch.
I thought that was odd since my other vehicles slave cylinders move well over an inch .

if I have to take back this clutch assembly back again its going through there window lol.
but what you said sounds right as well...

justin_4runner "is the fork on the ball right? and the ball, nut not broke? and are u sure u have got all the air out of the system? "

fork is on the ball in correct location, everything is in good condition no bad wear or brakes, and the system is properly bleed over and over and over...

if somebody could eyeball there salve cylinder throw I would really appreciate it.
just to get an idea if its the master, slave or internal tranny issues.

awesome thanks man !

I really appreciate it!

so I'm going with the wrong or bad pressure plate now...

I'm going to run down to the wrecker to see if I can find a stock used one to throw on and see if it works that should tell me whats up. I hope...

If I can't figure this out I'll give ya some gas money .

I couldn't help but notice you said your pedal goes 1/4 the way to the floor before it starts to engage... I'm not sure exactly what distance is spec freeplay, but mine is set correctly and moves a bit more than an inch before it starts to engage.

If you haven't adjusted that... I'd do so before pulling the tranny again. Good luck!
