So I have a question, there are a set of factory 4.88s for sale from a 93 runner. I have a 88 with manual hubs, I've read about the ADD stuff and aren't 100% sure how all that crap works. So my question is if I bought the members would they work fine with my year? Any info is appreciated

I had it down, previously... But now I'm knocking my head again trying to figure out what you're into if you're JUST SWAPPING GEARS/DIFF'S... ??? That article is more common to "Guys that are swapping Aisin Hubs ON TO their ADD year rigs"... But I'm sure all you need is in there(Ie; Do I have to remove anything from the front Diff? OR, can I just drop my entire front inner axle, remove my gears and install the 4.88 Gears from a formerly ADD system. RIGHT? HAHAHA. )

Dunno if it matters anymore or if the deal may still be there but when i spoke to ZUK he told me that if because i have the same V6 motor as the 2nd gens that the 3rds off the axles for the 2nd gens would work for mine too. I know you have the 3vze also so those 3rds should work for your truck because our axles were meant for v6 motors thus having to use v6 gears.

But in all honesty i think you outta just shoot him a PM and ask him yourself with the link to the 3rds you're talking about and give him the specs on your truck. He usually answers my questions within a days time.

Thanks guys, and I dont know who zuk is? Yeah im pretty sure my truck is non add and the ones I was looking at were early 90s so I think they are ADD. But I know nothing.

Zuk is the guy who created the "Zuk mod" Chef installed his coils or w/e onto his truck. came out great. He works with alot of 4x4 trucks and deals with many diffs, gears, and lockers. If i remember correctly Chef said thats his job.

I know you're not an ADD dude, lol... But I'm wondering if you're donor Diff's are? They will have a vacuum port for the ADD actuator, IIRC... And the problem guys have is that, ...when they have ADD and want Manual Locking Hubs... They slap em on and notice that they can lock them in... But can't UNLOCK them until they back up just a nutmeg! lol. Simliar but not exactly to my old set up(what Redeth still has just for now until he swaps).... We Had/have Auto Locking Hubs...... So when I would want to go Wheeling, I'd just shift into 4WD and drive.. The brake/clutch etc. inside the Auto Locking Hubs(NOT ADD, that's different)... would actuate after a few feet and lock the hubs automatically. To disengage, I would roll backward in reverse after taking it out of 4WD/putting it into 2H... after a few feet(more if they're tired and parts are tweaked in there) it would automatically unlock the hubs. EVEN if you're in 4WD, .....In reverse, the hubs can unlock and you have to roll forward again a couple feet to re-lock them(HUGE flaw in the minds of many 4Wheel Lovers).....CONVENIENT, sure... If you're just needing them for heading up the snowy roads to Big Bear, etc.,... You know, weekend Ski trips, no wheeling really... They're GREAT! Never have to get out, etc. But if you get in a pinch, they can make it tough to get out of in SPECIFIC situations... Like one where you have to rock back and forth to get out of something?

Anyway, read that page and then look at your diffs, Buddy... see if they're Vacuum Actuated or if that's on the actual tubes, etc., and you don't have to worry.

PS> Can you explain..> YOU JUST HAVE THE DIFFS, ...not the whole front axles up to the CV's, right?

You know there are guys most likely within 5 minutes of your residence that would LOVE the work and that have done bending/welding/plate work for years! COMPETITION IS HERE, BABY! lol. I got an angle on my welding and bumper work.... But it's a favor kinda thing, so I'll have to ask him what he thinks, ok?

Yea I guess these guys would do just fine. I'm gonna shoot them a text and see if they think they can pull it off. Then compare the price difference between theirs and the CBI bumper. I really really like the look of the CBI and Warn bumpers. Hopefully one of these guys can pull off the whole job for about $300. That'd be nice. Get some winch and light mounts on it too.

Hey everyone, after 4 and a half years its finally happened. I got a lift for my truck

Got it off a guy who pulled it off a runner he bought, its all OME except the torsion bars which are from downey. Im gonna try to put it on this weekend.

HOLY SMACKEREL! THAT IS a good deal, my Cali-brother! lol..... That kit INCLUDING the T-bars is around 800$, new, IIRC.... 400$ for the shocks.... 250$ for the leaf packs..... ???$ on the T-bars.... Can't remember, it's on the ARB site(or resellers, I should say, like rockyroadoutfitters.com .... whom I will NEVER use again, lol) ... Maybe 150$?
