87 + - truck won't keep running.
My friend, whos deaf, has a toyota pickup. It's around a 86-89 and it's got a 22RE in it. Auto Transmission.
I helped her pull out the alternator and we put it back in after getting it tested. The truck will start and run at idle for a few seconds and then it dies. If you give it any gas, it dies. If you give it just enough to keep idling, it will try real hard to stay running.
I don't think it was missing any cylinders, and it didn't sound funny, it just won't stay running.
Anyone got any ideas?

There could be a number of reasons why her truck won't stay running....a fuel filter is only one of them. But, if it's not been changed in a while.....
