7mge afm swap
So I finally got my 7mge afm and put it in and my truck and idled super super low and was on the verge of dying and I could never really get it to idle up.. and if I tried to give it gas it just bogged and didn't like it... I played with the bypass air screw on the afm that you have to drill out and also my idle speed screw on my throttle body and there was no change. I tried it at 5 6 and 7 clicks rich and not much changed. I'm at 14ish degrees advanced timing also. Not sure what else to do, seems like an easy swap over to the people that have done it

Any vacuum leaks?? Sounds like it is too rich. Needs more air. Also try this. Pull the efi fuse and wait for 2 minutes then put it back in. This will reset the computer to accept the new AFM. Good luck and post pictures

I was kinda worried that I may have a small vacuum leak somewhere but I will try to pull my efi fuse and see if that does the trick.. and to make it lees rich should I just put the cog at like 3 teeth rich instead of 5 or 6? I have tan flamethrowers by the way

Not yet did have a chance mess with it yet, but yesterday I got some v powers and gapped them at .9mm / .036" for my flamethrower coil so those are ready to be put in. I am just trying to get a compression tester from my buddy at the moment because I have never checked my cylinders before

I have a same vafm swap mind me asking why you Enriched it? your supose to lean it out i went 3 clicks lean and sit at 14.7-15.2 sweep on my wideband afr gauge. Also how are you likeing your flame thrower injector? Were they worth it?

Because the 7mge is set way to lean for the 3vze so you have to make the supra afm richer usually 6 teeth I think and 5 if you have flamethrowers but mine isint getting enough air I don't think. So I'm trying 3 teeth rich. And the injectors are a good bonus, I didn't see THAT much performance gain but fuel milage is better and I heard if you have the supra afm the injectors make a much bigger difference

Didnt get to check all the cylinders because I was in a hurry but the ones I did were just barely below average which is normal considering the milage so hopefully get to that afm this week!
