3vze oil pressure specs
Has anyone got the specs for what the oil pressure should be at any given engine temp/rpm for the 3vze. Ive just finished installing some aftermarket gauges and i modified them to have their illumantion on a separate circuit. So the readings may be out due to factory calibration allowing for the current draw of the illumination.
I took the kettle outside and dropped my water temp sensor in while the kettle was boiling, the Gauge read 105c. Pretty happy with that reading. Now...my issue is with the oil pressure gauge. I started the car and the gauge went to 80psi! This is with cold oil (10w40) at 1200rpm cold idle. Surely this is wrong. The factory oil pressure gauge was reading about right, it was virtually sitting in the middle of the gauge, maybe slightly under.
Im thinking about rigging up the air compressor to somewhat check the calibration of the sender that came with the gauge. But the gauge is 1/8 npt and nothing on the compressor or in my box of fittings has that thread.

At 3,000rpm, the oil pressure spec is 36-75psi. http://web.archive.org/web/201003261...16oilpress.pdf So your gauge may be close, correct even.
I am curious how you connected your gauge. Since you seem to have both, did you use some sort of Tee? Or did you drill/tap another port in the block?
The factory gauge is 1/8" BSPT, NOT 1/8" NPT. They have a different thread pitch (and diameter).

I will keep an eye on the pressure and c wot it does when the engine heats up.
My aftermarket sender is 1/8npt. Ive got a brass tee piece that adapts bspt to npt. The local bearing shop carries alot of the 'low pressure' brass fittings....the local hydraulic shop on the other hand only had stainless fittings and wanted $40 a piece.
