3VZE oil cooler is $474
Just got off the phone with Glen Burnie, the discounted price on a replaement for the factory engine oil cooler is $474!

Shoit!~
Any bright ideas on a less expensive way to solve this problem? or someone who has them at a more realistic price?

Going off pics in the the 3.4 build thread, yes.
It looks a lot like an oil filter, but is more towards the rear of the motor. There's a line running from the water pump to it, and another dumping back into the block.

You learn something new every day :o. As far as your guys' problem...junk yard? If it's possible, I'd do like Crymson said and just bypass the factory and install an aftermarket.

ive seen em on ebay for about 40 to 50 but now I cant find ANY... nor do any of the parts stores seem to have em. Give CarQuest a call they seem to have the most stuff available and I can imagine it being more than about 100 bux through them new.

carquest only has aftermarket ones - external.
Maybe that's my best choice...
Damit, I just don't have the time to do a conversion right now...I need my f'ing truck fixed
{sorry for the rant, bit pissed right this moment}
I wonder if I soaked this one in carb cleaner for a week if it'd clean out...

Some of the 3.0 engine are not equipped with the engine oil cooler and they just have a cover that goes over the place where the oil cooler mounts and the water pump and engine block are plugged. That might help you get by until you have time to adapt over to an aftermarket cooler.

was so pissed I went to toyota and looked at new ones again tonight.
Brought the checkbook, wanted to bring a new bitch home and make the old one cry, {I'd had a few drinks and was feeling 'loose'}.
We couldn't get together on the #, but damn I like that new motor & automatic. If they'd have gone to 20 I'd have come home with a new truck.
Guess I know what I need to transplant...

Just talked to a radiator repair place. With the cooler being stainless steel they feel that their chemicals will dissolve whatever is fouling it.
If it were aluminum there's be nothing left after about 15 minutes in this stuff.
It's worth a try anyway...

B&M SuperCooler Oil Coolers
all you need to do is find out what the thread into the block is and get a thread to hose-barb fitting (might be one of the ones in the kit, little brass fittings on the bottom)
never done it on a 3.0 but looks like it would work BETTER for 10% the cost
