I contacted my local toyota performance shop in tuscon, the guys over there have done some crazy stuff with toyotas, including a 600hp 22RE.. I was on the phone with the guy who is the brains behind everything and he said they have done tons of one off forced induction applications for the 3.0s. He is gonna call me back tomorrow and ill let you guys know the update

Well i hope its good news for u. Did u specify 3vze wen talking to him, or just a 3.0L toyota? I know the 3vzfes have been midified to make some good figures.
But for them to make a comment along the lines of 'tons of one off applications' is a bit contradictory in itself.

Anything is possible with the desire, budget, fab resources, tools, skill, etc... even with the 3vze. The question is why??? There are so many better alternatives!!
I would not dissuade the OP for trying, because everyone has their dreams, but sometimes we have to put our dreams into perspective. The 3vze is just not a good foundation to build on.
Forced induction is a blast, been there done that, but it requires a lot of for sight if one wants a dependable and reliable setup.

The 3VZ really is not a bad engine.. it has a bad reputation for head gasket issues but other than that there is not much about it that should categorize it as "bad". The early 89 and 90s trucks actually have the better of the head gaskets. The reason so many people have issues is because when toyota was building these engines in the 90s, the head gasket factory in japan burned down, so toyota outsourced the manufacturing to a different company and they werent nearly as good as the first ones. To answer your question of "why", im doing it because I see a lot of potential in these motors if properly modified, and maybe I can inspire others to look at a different alternative other than swapping in a different engine.

There are other reasons it's a "bad" engine. But we will not get into that. Assuming you have the skill and budget forced induction is not a bad way to go on the 3vze. The problem is you could have a supercharged 3.4, SBC, or diesel swap for close to the same pain.
Issues that would concern me:
Turbo is probably going to need additional oil cooling
Head gaskets and valves better be in excellent condition
vacuum system will need to be addressed
Better hope the rings are sealing good and you have no blow by
Drive pressure would be another concern however if you running low boost with headers it may not be a issue
I definitely would not try it with the stock cross over pipe. So your dropping $500-$800 into a set of headers to cut apart unless you can figure out a way to use the stock manifolds.
