35s on a 89

35s on a 89
Hey guys this has proubly been asked before but will I have enough room for 35s on my pickup. I got 32 bfg ko's and plenty of room about 23.5in from the top of my hub to the bottom of my fender. Power is great , no rubbing it just sets to low. I got a 2 in bl and 1in block (will be changing to 2in) in the rear and 1.5 bj spacers. Also is it a good idea for me to run 35s or should I run 33s. If I go with 35s they will be bfg k/o's or Goodyear silent armor wrangler, 33's will be swamper Truxus mud radial. I never hardly go offroad but when I do its mud no rocks (Texas for ya) and I drive about 15 miles a day around town school etc. I rarely go on the highway its a mall crawler. I have 4.10 gears brand new 22re less than 2,000 miles no upgrades all stock steering axles etc. I plan on evently running 4.88/5.26 gears later down the road. So can I just turn my Torsion bars up a 1in or so and that will give me a 4in lift all around. Any help will help me thanks.

I personally wouldn't go above 33's for ALL of the reasons you mentioned, its a DD, a mall crawler, and you rarely go offroad, I would just stick with the 33's. Plus if you go bigger your gonna have to regear.

Well I have looked at the 33's and the Specs say they are actually only like 32.6. I would like to have at least 33.4-34.7 or around that area on a all-terrian or a mild mud-terrian.

I'm thinking 4" of lift and 35's is going to either equal a lot of trimming, or a lot of rubbing.
If you're only going to do 4" of lift I'd suggest staying with 33's.
And that's coming from someone running 36's.

My only question is then is what kind of trimming will I have to do to make them fit if any. As you know im not worryied about fully comprsed and turring all the way and not rubbing. My most flex will be a bump in the road. Sorry if comming out rude.

good luck finding 5.26s
if its a daily driver and it rarely sees anything at all except pavement and mud why are you putting on lifts and bigger tires?
im not trying to be a jackass, but at the same time im not trying to increase the already high number of jerks on the road with giant tires and shiny trucks that do nothing with them except for tailgate everyone and think they own the road.
but to each his own. good luck in the mud with the 35s. i would stick with 32-33s and invest in at least a rear locker.
finally to answer your question, yea 35s will probably fit. they might rub when you drive over parking lot dividers

Yea man its cool im in high school and im tired of having one of the shortest trucks in school parking lot(my dad says its a fase we all go through) I do go mudding not every weekend I have a 300 honda for that. We kids today do not look at ground clearnce we look at cab height you might or might not know that. Poeple think ohh its a toyota it susspose to set with 44s on it. Im just tired of setting equal with my friends 04 z71 with 265/70/16s. But thanks for a answer to my questions guys.

weve all been in highschool but you need to understand this...Toyotas are SMALL trucks..much smaller than full size chevy's and fords. You will need a LOT of lift to get your cab higher than their full size trucks. You will have more ground clearence and better offroad abilities with your better ground clearence. the only 4runner i have seen on 44's is 4mogger's and he has the most rediculus suspension setup i have ever seen.
btw 265/70/16's arent big tires..at all.. My dad's 3rd gen has those on it stock.
If you want 35's prepare for your truck to be unable to get out of its own way. It will be horribly slow. UNLESS you get some new gears which would cost you some serious cash.
If you are looking for a big truck..go for a 4" suspension lift from skyjacker or whoever and throw some 33's on. Maybe even get a locker in the rear.
You will be MUCH happier and your truck will still be MASSIVE. although it might still be smaller than some of your friend's trucks...with a locker and good 33's you will do much better in mud!

your friends all suck. you'll find that out soon enough. who cares about height if all you're going to do is end up rolling it anyway...

Eh, i agree with 89macrunner.
Here are two pics. The Domestic Pile is on 35's, the red 4runner is on 37's, and the silver 4runner is on 33's. The Domestic still has several inches on the red 95, with smaller tires.

(some might even say the SHORT bus)
I thought I was LUCKY to HAVE a car in College (kinda had to as I commuted to school to save $$$)
I didnt even DREAM about modding a car until AFTER I finished College and had a job - and even then it ws small stuff (nerf bars) rather than big tires (what are those - at least $100 a tire) and a lift.
I kinda agree with SHAEFF

some people have more money then sense. you'll find out that a stock toyota 4x4, with a rear locker and somebody who knows how to drive can go many of the places that those big trucks can, and some places they cant. when you start getting aches and pains in your joints from injuries you'll wish you didnt spend so much money on lifting your truck into the clouds with those 35's..

hey i worked all though high school and all my rigs got modded. but not to the extreme. my first yota rig was a 95 runner. 32s rear locker, and about 3 or 4 inches. it was great for what i wanted to do with it...look good on road and perform offroad. i think you will be much happier with a rear lock then bigger tires. you friends on 38s with open diffs will get stuck before you do!
and thats the ultimate bragging right, especially when you have pics of ur truck pulling thiers out...ha!
