Well holy cow. As one of the first to doubt since there were no engine pics, I will say well done.

thanks Flygtenstein.

Vato Loco, I just brought my 4runner (grey one) to the track this Sunday...
90 4runner with trd s/c stock boost. nothing in the truck, except whatevers stock. I ran only 16 flat.... I expected high 15's

my cousin drove my truck at the track. he said the smaller pulley that he has really does make alot of difference. I'm gonna get my smaller pulley, and I'll post some better times.

we haven't brought his car to the track yet, his car is heavier then mine, brush guard in front, 2 sub system and amps in the back.
we weighed mine at the track and it was close to 4600 with 1/2 tank of gas.

depends who's doing the labor. all of the labor was done ourself. pulling the old motor, dropping in the new one. we wired it, so we didnt need to purchase a harness. exhaust we did.

motor, parts, etc... will cost whatever the market price where you live. we got good deals on the 3 motors that we used. all of them where complete swaps with all the accessories, taken out of the donor once we paid.

new parts (mounts, seals, etc..) we got from Champion Toyota (previously Jay Marks) in Houston.

the 1st 4runner swap was done in my cousin's driveway!!
the truck was done over at my friends airplane hanger...
my 4runner was mostly done on my cousin's driveway....and wired up and exhaust done at my shop.

its my cousin's uncles 4runner. I believe 00 or 01. it use to be maroon/red color. it was wrecked pretty bad by the previous owner but it still had a clear title. got it for really cheap with about 60k miles. limited 2wd auto.

we fixed and got it repainted pearl white w/ PPG paints. came out to under 10k total for the parts, repair labor, and the cost of the truck itself. replaced rear quarter panel and part of the roof, passenger fender, grill, etc...hookup on bodywork and paint.

isn't that grill the stock one??? we bought the grill from an aftermarket body parts place.

the superchargers were regular internet price for forum sponsors (carson toyota in cali.- tundrasolutions sponsors, i think they are on ttora also.)
i think it was 2070 shipped for the s/c with trd boost gauge and pod. 2nd gen s/c with the autotensioner for the belt (not the old gray colored TRD s/c)

First of all, great work! I have some questions though...

What type of fuel/timing mods have you guys done? Especially with that 14psi truck...

all 3 trucks run very well, no pings, no problems with fuel. replaced stock fuel filters. stock injectors.

the motors and ECU's we used are all from 99 4runners and tacoma, the model year in which toyota had already fixed the issue about fuel with trd supercharger.

we are also using denso iridium spark plugs per the recommendations of TRD if there was pinging. we werent pinging but we used the spark plugs anyway.

the red 4runner has walbro 190lph fuel pump (only got that cause of the problems Gadget had, my cousin was doing his first swap so he didnt want to encounter any problems, he had to go with recommendations of ppl who had problems)
stock injectors, he does have a Apexi S'AFC but its not currently being used to control fuel (he thought he needed it once he put on the 14psi pulley but he hasnt used it yet)
my cousin said that that fuel pump and split second, and whatever Gadget had reommended along time ago was not needed.

93 truck, stock everything (injectors, fuel pump, stock ecu fuel maps)
same with my grey 4runner.

we hooked up the our OBDII laptop software (autoenginuity) to monitor the fuel and everything...there were no problems.

that 87? truck that i posted pics of...its quick...also geared correctly.
had stock 22re turbo. he swapped it himself, custom-made motor mounts.
thanks to Todd, gave us alot of useful technical info on the swap when we were doing our first swap. shared several tips with each other also.

That grill is from an 01 or 02 4runner. It's a direct swap to a 96-00. I have one in red. They come in chrome, red, black, green, silver, and pearl white. About $110 from your dealer. You'll also need a front oval for about another $40. The earlier ones won't fit on this grill.

You can't see mine for the lights in front of it, but here's one on Brian's 00 that he put on there when he was de-chroming it.

Looks great man!!!! A couple of questions though. Why no CEL? I would think that's one of the easier parts of the wiring. I had read once that one would need to run two computers if the 3.0 auto tranny is used. Did you just wire it up, or swap some of the sensors from the 3.4 tranny?

when I say no CEL, I mean that there is no check engine light thats lit up. the truck is running good, no ecu codes thrown (ppl with swaps using 3.0 autos usually get CEL cause the speed sensor is not working right)

that part of wiring was easy...obdII connection plug is wired and usable if we need to check thrown codes.

had to do alittle modding inside the tranny to allow get the speedo sensor to pick up the signal correctly. the 3.0 and 3.4 read different signals.

the rest is wiring, shifting is controlled with the 3.4 ecu.
the auto tranny in the 3.0 and 3.4 are basically the same tranny.

got it off ebay.
its off of a Hilux Surf SSR-G. japanese model of the 4runner
its rare to find it on there. I look about every week for one for my 4runner.

I have JDM corner lights on mine...the amber part bulges out instead of jsut having a amber reflector flat on the lamp.

I have a set of 15" 3-piece Hilux Surf wheels at my shop also. the centers are painted (usually paint matched to the truck) and the lip is chrome.

did you only have the problem with the speed sensor on autos or did it need mods on the five speed also. could you just use the 3.4 trans instead?
love the 93. I have the same truck and thats what Ive been aiming for. very nice.
