22re valve cover torque specs

i was told by the dealer (when i bought new grommets and half moons) to add some silicone to the moons, and tighten the cover untill those 4 rubber grommets just start to squish. meaning < 10ftlbs
but hey, just call up the Dealer and ask, they are always helpful w/me, they even give me printouts of the stuff i buy, and how it goes into the truck.

X2, its all about the "squish" of the grommet. And remember to torque about half a turn at a time in an X pattern. I Try to have NEW half moons and grommets when I put it back on, and just apply a little daub of RTV to the corners of the half moons. More than that and it gets messy when you disassemble next time.

great, yeah i usually just go by the 'squish' of the grommet. i was just curious to see what the correct torque was on it. i never really knew.haha thanks for the help!
