22re gushing oil
I went to start my 22RE for the first time... and had oil gushing out of a hole in the block on the passenger side between the 2 sides of the motor mount... what's supposed to go there?!

Here's a pic from Bleeder's thread. The hole that the oil is coming from is the hole directly between the two top bolts of the motor mout on the block.

There is a bracket of the motor mount that bolts to the block. the hole I am referring to sits right beween the 2 sides of that bracket. Notice the top 2 bolts of the bracket... my hole in the block is smack dab in the middle of those 2 bolts

Alright, here's a way better pic. The hole is below and foreward of the oil filter. it is directly centered between all 4 motor mount holes.
It looks like it is just plugged with a bolt, is that right?? If so, what do I seal the threads off with?

I had the same problem. The line from the Oil pressure sending unit broke and it turned into a high pressure jet.
m10x1.0 find a bolt and some teflon tape. make sure it's sealed. Or buy an oil pressure gauge and make use of the hole.

it's ACTUALLY a secondary oil pressure sender location, for the motor going in different applications, like the Celica's
It's a metric thread, but you can use a 1/8" pipe thread plug with a little teflon tape to seal it up
The same thing happened when my buddy built his new 22re for his 90; he started it up, oil started POURING everywhere, and he flipped out, lmao "OMG OMG OMG, NOT THE NEW MOTOR; IT'S BROKEN, OMG!!!"
it was kinda funny actually, lol
if that hoist looks familiar, it's because it's the exact one I used for my swap, lol
