hmm, so do you think it would backfire at all with a flowmaster 40 and 2.25 pipe?

just yesterday I put a pacesetter header and extension pipe, magnaflo high flow cat, and a stock type 1 piece cat back from autozone.com. Sounds decent, works good, freed up a little power. Its by no means a race truck but it is a noticable increase especially up some of the hills around here. Im happy. 200ish for the header kit,100ish for cat,120ish for cat back. Not too bad bang for the buck imo. and I only had to make small and easy to do mods here and there. nothing big. and only took about 1.5 hours to install.

i have a flowmaster 40 with stock pipes and its reeeealllly quite. when u start it up theres is no difference at all in sound. you can notice it(if i tell you) when i fisrt pull out but after i hit 2nd, it sounds stock. it backfires a little but not bad. dotn get it unless your goin with bigger exhaust pipe IMO

I have the Downey header, free flowing cat, magnaflow muffler and 2.5" exhaust all the way....and it is WAY louder than stock. You find you'll put your foot into ALOT more for the first couple of months. I've finally learned to drive quietly down the street now and only notice it when I'm getting on it up a hill or trying make a yellow light.

My MPGs went up on the highway to so the trade off was worth it.

well the cops in my area are dicks with nothing to do. my bro got pulled over all the time when he had his SRT 4(3" turbo back with no mufflers) he even had to go to court one time. funny thing was that his car was legal.

flowmaster sounds way better in my opinion...and for piping it just depends how much back pressure you still want...

alright, well i do alot of wheelin and i commute alot so i don't know if thats a big deal. Yea i have a 30.00 muffler on there right now, its called raptor or somethin but it just sounds a little too ricy in my opinion. Which would be the best, 40 or 50 series?

I'm going to be puttin in a 2.25 from the tiny Y back, takin out the cat and putting in the cheapest 2.25 muffler I could find on Ebay. Hopefully i can get to it this weekend if not it'll be in the following. I already cleaned out the cat and that helped. I'm sure she'll be a bit louder but sound better than whats on it now. Swiss Cheese mufflers never sound good...

personally i like 40's better... its louder and has a better tone (i think)
i 4 wheel a lot too but i dont think it could make that big of a difference since before the cat, piping is 2.25 and after its 2
