22R overheats with thermostat in
I'm back at it folks. I got 3 days after replacing headgasket and truck ran fine with no water lose or overheating problems. I put in a new thermostat and bam! within 15 minutes the temp hand started climbing. I really hoped it was a bubble and would clear when the t'stat opened, but it never did. When I shut it down the pressure was blowing out the reservoir. Anyone seen this engine run OK w/o t'stat but overheat with it in?
Thanks

Thanks for the replys. Here we go.
*Yep, installed correctly.
*New Radiator
*I'm going to drop the present t'stat into water on stove just for curiosity sake
*I just purchased a new t'stat from AutoZone that must be a 2 stage from the strange design.
*For now, I'll park the yota or use for short trips w/o the stat, then try the new stat when I can.
**I'll let you know
