1st gen vs. 2nd gen shifter/ clutch hydraulics

I'm lookin at buying a wreck 1st gen 4runner for parts and a 5spd swap and was wondering if the clutch asyembly and pedals and shifter boot and positioning are the same on 1st gen 4runners as on 2nd gen. I assume it is but I want to be sure. if everything from the 1st will fit my 2nd. thanks!

Depends on the transmission. Early w56s from 4 cylinders the shifter and t-case sit farther back and have there own covers. Newer style g52 and some w56s the t-case and shifter share a cover. Those ones the shifter stuff sits farward about 2inches. Cheack with Marlin crawler website and you can see what I mean from the pictures. I put the new style in one of my trucks and just cut the floor a bit.
