1986 22re rebuilt head

Need some advise please, I have a 1986 SR5 pickup with the 22re and just got my head back from being re built and a new RV cam installed.they gave me a print out to the spec's in which I should set the valves cold which was .008 and .012 however for that particular year the Hanes manual clearly states .010 and .012 is this partly to do with the new cam? And what would be the best setting for my application. I would appreciate any advise.

If you have a aftermarket cam go with the specs it gives you. If not the stock specs are intake=.008 amd exhaust=.012

Thanks Turd,
Well triggered a phone which I'm I glad I did, spoke rep at comp cams and they stated that .010 in .010 ex was a warm setting and if I was going to set it cold use a setting of .012 in and .012 ex. I know these settings are within thousandths of each other it must make a difference to some point, you spend all this money and time you want to get it as close to humanly possible.
Thanks for the great advise it triggered me to look further and make the right dission which I most likely would have not of.

My old 22re had a an aftermarket performance cam from the previous owner that made all sorts of racket with the factory specs. Finally just started experimenting going down in small increments until I finally only had a little noise at 5 and 7 I think it was. Drove it for years with no issues set that tight and the motor still lives on in another truck.
