What ratio of sand and/or wood to water should I use? Do I need to get it from the stealership or is the cheap Wal-Mart stuff good enough?

NO NO, puree pickle pimento loaf and mayonaise, add fragrance, then combine 50/50 mix with peanut butter.

Someone once told me with that mix in your diffs it's as good as a locker.

But seriously.... I am just going to continue to run this and not worry. I'll keep the hubs locked but the tcase in 2wd until I NEED 4wd. Should minimize any unneeded stress. As for snowy roads, I don't see high traction binding being an issue there. I appreciate all the input from you guys.

May be a while until I can afford tires but I can't go without wheeling that long!

I hear ya tires are costly, when ya need m its like DANNNNNG, 170 each, OY.

Yeah man, it is insanity. Then they get ya with the tax, installation, environmental fees, optional free replace certificate crapola... before you know it your four $170 tires are going to cost you well over $200 each.

I think I am going to go with these guys when the time comes. DiscountTire has them for $145 each in 31x1050.

Honestly run your tires. It will not make a difference. If your tires were 1/2" side to side on the same axle that's when I would look for tires. Your diff would be constantly moving.

At one time, I was running 235/75-15's in front and 30x9.50's in the rear for several months. 4wd and 2wd. No problems.

Blue-tac in your diff, works like a limited slip.
You probably could run peanut oil in your diff... Your axle would be clean from all the animals licking it clean.

I'll try that in the front diff. Maybe the animals will clean up the oil leakage up front from my oil pressure sender and power steering pump, and maybe my tires will stop getting peed on... though that may be my own dogs...

Here's a 40" Irok on one side & a 31" on the other. I ended up driving it like this for about 1/2 mile. I was using a forklift to see how much sheetmetal I needed to trim in the rear. I didn't feel like swapping tires at my firiend's garage so I just drive it home. The Aussie locker was hating life for that 1/2 mile

Just to update.. Using a better method to measure, I discovered there was more like a 1" difference in diameter. I went to Discount Tire and had them measure my BFG MTs tread to compare with a new one. There was a 3/32 difference, so my rears were still damn near new. Long story short I bought 2 new tires for the front so I can use 4wd and not be worried the whole time.. and it sure looks better with all 4 BFG MTs.

However! This is pretty interesting. I e-mailed Toyota directly on the matter, not really expecting a response... Here is what they had to say:

Yeah dude, didn't realize those balding Durango M/Ts on the front ruined the look so much. Definitely not a true 31" tire, they were about 29 with 7/32 tread left.
