Does anybody know what this notch in the throttle cable bracket is for?

I believe that is for the automatic transmission kickdown cable (or I think that is what its called). This tells the transmission when to shift based on the throttle position. My truck is a carbureted automatic and has a cable running from the carburetor to that notch in the bracket then to automatic transmission. Not sure if the notch had any other uses like cruise control... There is probably nothing in this notch for most if not all trucks with a manual transmission.

Dude that's awesome. Would you mind getting a picture of where that goes to on the carb?

I'm trying to find a really good way to hook up a hand throttle on my crawler.

Alright, here are the pictures. This is from my 2wd automatic. The cables attach at different spots but are connected to the same shaft.
