So I purchased one of the brake combos from marlin,#2, and I am having a helluva time finding wheel studs that fit. I'm leaning twards m14-1.5. Anyone else have this problem and what size did you use? Any help is useful! Thanks

OEM studs should fit. M12x1.5 iirc

did you try contacting marlin which studs to get with their rotors? That's where I would start.

I called and they said that anything from an 85 would work...but m12x1.5 is too small, they are an 8 hole design. Is this even the right rotor? The size that fit snug are m14x1.5

8-lug? not on a toyota wheel. Unless your talking about 6 + 2 holes for the capture bolts. But even then the extra two holes would be smaller then the lug holes.

P.S. Did marlin take their brake upgrade kits down? Cus all I see is calipers, rotors and masters.

The studs hold the rotor on through holes on the rotor.
Knurl is on wheel hub and stud not rotor. Same for bolts.

The diameter at the stud head might be wider but the threads are M12.

By 8 lug I mean 6 lug holes and 2 smaller holes

Could this be an aftermarket rotor? The kit did come with an aftermarket master

u can not us dorman studs from the parts store you have to get stock studs to work.

Stock wheel studs work. But you should have your stock studs.

Use them.

I have been trying dorman, have you ran into this problem 1styota? So I have to go to the stealership?

Just to be clear the stock studs on my current non vented rotor will work?

For sure the studs off a non vented rotor will fit a vented rotor? What is the differnce in stock studs and dorman?

No one else has ran across this before? Guy from marlin said I could get them from any parts store he diddnt specify that they had to be stock. I'm still very confused. I wanted to have the studs already on the rotor so I could just swap rotor and caliper and done

my god you just had two people on here, both being a long time member on here, one of which builds these things every single day and Marlin tell you to use the stock ones you got how much more clarifications you need? Who you gonna believe the person who sold you the wrong wheels studs or 3 people who build toyotas? Take one of your studs out, look at the difference in what you got and try it. Why is that so hard?

The studs don't go IN the rotor.

The studs go through the rotor.

Use your stock wheel studs.
If need some more go to dealer or parts store.

Follow above instructions in FSM.

I think I see what he's trying to do. Have you even taken apart your truck yet? I don't think you have. As you wouldn't be doing what you are attempting to do. I'd be willing to bet you do in fact have the correct studs. Maybe not, but you might. Once you figure out what you are doing wrong your probably gonna be somewhat embarrassed.
