Manual to Automatic Transmission Swap

Hey all, this is an unlikely swap but instead of selling my beloved 2wd '84 SR5 truck with a 22RE I'm going to give it to my ol' man. But he'd really prefer if it was an automatic, since he'll just be putting around town in it.

I've seen plenty of threads for auto to manual swaps, but what about the other way? Can I leave my triple pedals and associated clutch parts in place in case I ever want to go back. How about the wiring, do the stick trucks have the transmission harness like the autos?

Just curious if this is possible?

Thanks a ton

Happy New Years

here's a pic of the ol girl!

No, the stick trucks do not have the wiring setup there.

For all the time and cost associated with putting in an auto, I would just deal with the clutch. The clutches on Toyota's are not that harsh.

Well of course it's possible, I did it. Is it simple? No since you really need an entire harness from an auto truck to do it right.
I just unbolted the clutch pedal and welded in a bigger plate on the brake. I didn't swap in the auto harness and just run a manual shift controller to shift 1-4.
For what you want to do it's not really a practical swap.

Yikes. OK, so it's not as easy as going from an auto to a stick swap. Well, it'll just have to stay a stick.

Thanks!
