Talking Igniter noise????ting ting ting????

1985 toy 4x4 pickup rn60 22R carb model built in Japan.

So, got down to the end of my trouble shooting safari. New carb, new distributor, new igniter, new timing chain and metal guides, adjust valves, trouble shoot all smog equipment, new battery, new complete tuneup.

Starts and runs perfectly except for a tink tink tink on the front of the engine. So I track it down with my hand dandy automotive stethoscope, (doctor looking thing that goes in my ears, uses a steel rod) it is the mechanical fuel pump. I replace it and then I hear a ting ting ting? I track it down to the brand new toyota (not cheap) igniter box. Yes, the silver thing under the coil??? I thought that this was a solid state transistor controlled coil signal controller? Huh? The old one didn't make that noise?

Any one else ever run into this before?

I swear it is a high pitch ting ting ting. It is not an arcing sound, it almost sounds like a reed switch or a high speed relay. Has any one pulled one of these apart?

And NO, it is not the valves, not the pistons, not the timing chain, not the bearings, it is literally coming from the ingniter box????

Wow, no one hears the ting ting ting, must be in my head!!!

The 85 carb 4x4 runs perfectly, up hills at 55 in 4th, lays a patch in first, my teeth chatter every time I hit a rough spot on the road, cooling system barely makes 1/4 on the meter and the radio masks all the other shakes, rattles and squeaks. I love it when something runs perfectly. The ride in my 93 is so much better it I can't believe that they are made by the same company.

Not real sure what you might be hearing in your head !!

Having pulled one of these igniters apart unless it is a vibration in the case.

It is a board in there pretty much covered in a coating to protect it from the elements .

See, at first, I thought it was my wife tapping me on the head with a 1 1/4 inch box end wrench to get my attention when I was under the hood, but alas, no it is actually the igniter module. Been on the road a bit now, but still making that strange noise........ Had a friend listen to it, he can hear it too.

X2 on possible vibrations from loose fastners near and or on the igniter and coil assembly. I've never heard one make noise either. Very strange.

Video of the noise..?
