As long as it runs well and the frame is good like he says and not rusted out, i would definately go for it. But try to talk him down since your gonna drive an pick it up... I wouldn't mind all that body rust, the cab looks to be in pretty good shape. But if i was you i would definately buy/build a flatbed

with the rock behind the rear tire, my first thought is either 1. the transmission has slipped and it rolled away, and or 2. the E-brake is bad, but for 1000 bucks or anything less than that most definantly. id buy it just to beat the crap out of.

You drive to pick it up and show him cash and I'll bet you he'll take 700 I sure would.

Update. i just got off the phone with the guy im going at 3 o'clock tommorow to look at it, he said he put a 22R motor in it motor has like 80,000miles, truck has around 150,000miles why he didn't rebuild the RE, i don't know.
he said the frame is spotless never driven in salt. though it has no interior/seats so i guess ill have to herculine it and put a seat or two in it. but it seems like helluva deal. this is unheard of in NH.

he may say the frame is fine, but take a screw driver with you and spend some time on your back poking that frame looking for the swiss cheese. With the bed that fubarred, check the cab floor too and cab corners...the 'good deal' can turn into a migraine quick after you get it home
add says he is firm on the price but won't hurt to try get it a little cheaper...

Im just sayin try to get it as cheap as you can. With no interior and all that rust i would offer more like $700-$800. And yeah be very thourough inspecting that frame, cuz with all the rust on those body panels i have a hard time believing the frame is perfect like he says.

its worth a 1000 , I would not even try to talk him down. I have seen truck like that trying to sell for $3500. Its really a good deal, dont insult the man and just pay him, you both be happy

2 things that caught my attention in that first picture;
1. There's a fire extinguisher at the ready near the front of the truck.
2. There's a very large rock jammed up against the rear wheel.
If the vehicle does in fact RUN, I would check for FUEL LEAKS and the Transmission.
