Clutch pedal popping sound

Everytime I push in my clutch the pedal pops or creaks. It seems to do it once and a while with no real pattern.

Truck shifts good and the clutch is good

Also check where the pedal bracket is attached to the firewall. Not uncommon for the firewhall sheet metal to fatigue and crack there making the noises you describe before it ultimately breaks and your clutch stops working.

Tore into it and found the metal holding the pedals is in good shape, one thing I did note was the clutch pedal seems like it has got 1/4 to a 1/2 of side play. Not sure if this is normal since I have nothing to compare it to.
