85 Pickup No heat issue

Heres me and my truck (84 toyota 22re swap header stage 3 cam, chip hybrid rears and tj springs up front chevy springs in the rear ect....) were working on getting a bumper....

The heater isn't working so I am freezing my a$$ off snow wheeling... any ideas? the hoses to the heater core are warm and heater kinda works after awhile but still not warm enough... my temp stays normal and heats decently fast...??

nice rig kjoslyn try replacing the t-stat and flushing the system. If that fails then it's on to the heater core and tearing into the dash.

Flush the core out. Disconnect the inlet and outlet hoses in the engine bay. Get a pt style spray nozzle for the garden hose and wedge it in and flush. Worked for me on every clogged core I've dealt with.

check the wire that the switch activates at the inlet to the heater core. Mine has come disconnected before and took me a little while to find it. On the fire wall towards the middle of the driver's side. Should be a coupler between two hoses with a wire connected to the bottom of it. make sue the wire is connected. Right next to the master cylinder.

Kjoslyn you might have the same problem I did where the wire does not move in an out. All I did was open that valve by hand till the valve started leaking then I just took the valve out and "permanently" bypassed it.

As far as Rausch Creek goes:

our last trip there:
https://www.yotatech.com/forums/f100...t=Rausch+Creek

and the trip before that:

There are quite a few other trips there if you use the forum search as well.

Also here is a link to the main Park page: http://www.rc4x4.org/

there should be a lever there that is actuated by the cable from the heater control that opens and closes the valve. Pic is kinda blurry but should be in the area that you pointed out.

Thanks for the move!

It almost appears that the linkage is there but the valve has been removed...

Hey there 92_Toy...Nice of you to help help out...

Do you have any good images of the firewall in and about that area. I checked to see what I have and I didn't have anything useful in that area. Almost looks as if something there is missing. Maybe just me though.

yup, that's the newer style valve. I would take photos of mine, but like I said earlier I "bypassed" mine.
