85 4runner 22re

I thought the PO put the oil pressure switch where the knock sensor was supposed to go. when the engine was cold I took the OPS out and there was no oil, so I figured that was a duh! So that's where the KS was supposed to go. So I order the KS, go to screw it in and the KS and OPS have diff size holes/threads. Then I start the truck up, warm it up a little then turn it off and unscrews the OPS, now oil is coming out!! Maybe somebody that used to build these in the factories in 85 could help me out. I'm starting to think this is a very specialized hands on project. Any help would be great. Thanks yall.

Some quotes I’ve found pertaining to this subject:
"Blocks werent changed until 1985, the first EFI systems used on 83-84 just bolted onto the 22R in place of standard carb. components. EFI was analog...but that doesnt keep a bolt from mating two parts now does it? lol

“even though 22R-E, they are prior to the laser block which appeared in the 85' model line of 4Runners, pickups and the 85' Celica."
"I thought I read somewhere though that the Celica 22R-E was literally a 22R with an EFI system slapped on (no knock sensor or something?), and that the 22RE in the trucks was actually designed to be EFI (somehow). Don't remember where I saw it, but I thought it was from a reputable source."

"From the factory, the analog EFI 22Rs in 83 and 84 Celicas (no knock sensor, vacuum advance on dist.) had 22R-E stickers on them, as did Toyota EFI ones. The ones with the TCCS fully electronic EFI and had 22RE stickers."

I am pretty sure the yellow connector goes to the knock sensor becuase it fits in my knock sensor and the cord is trained to go to where the OPS is. The bolt directly under the oil filter is where i thought the OPS was supposed to go. where the OPS is is where i thought the KS was supposed to go. The KS doesnt fit in that hole and there is oil coming out of where the OPS is in that pic. Mine has a 22R-E sticker not a 22RE Sticker. so my engine doesn't have a hole for the KS but the ECU has a connector for the KS?
