Weber 32/36 lag in secondarys solutions?

Just stuck a new weber on my 1980 Toyota 4x4 20r engine runs fine sounds good not perfect, still needs some tuning but when u mash on the gas there is a lag about a 5Th of a second then it takes off like hell like it should. What would be some solutions to fix that? fuel regulation timing etc.. Timming is set stock 8deg..BTDC double checked it after install but that was for other carb(stock).. fuel pump is stock no guage to check but book says it flows at 2-4.2 Thank you.
