Question Thinking of Buying a 1982 SR5 4cyl. Have questions

It has 98,000 miles. Is a manual 4 cyl and a 1982. The guy said he just fixed the carb because it was sticking from sitting a long time. The trucks looks to be in good shape aside from faded paint.

I am wondering what kind of mpg I should expect from this and what are some signs to lookout for bad stuff. Most importantly the mpg. I looked on autozone and replacement carbs are $400. WOW.

I am new to toyotas so any help is good help.

thanks!

how much is it? they we'll know what kinda deal it is. make sure you check for rust around the cab mounts and inside the frame rail. their are better carb options than stock. search for Weber carbs and you'll get alot of info. if the one on it is ok, i'd leave it alone. with mixed driving, i'd expect 15-20 mpg without a great tune up and old parts. any pics?

no pics yet, but I will post them after I see it. Tomorrow I plan on going by there if the guy calls. It is up for sale for $995. Doesn't look rusty at all. Just faded. So 15-20 without a good tune up. What about with a good tune up and better carb?

I am looking for something as a daily driver. It is appealing if it is possible to get over 15 mpg.

check the floor panels under the carpeting or rubber floor mat. Especially under the pedals and the two rear cab corners.

Price is pretty good.
