Strange sound from passenger front hub in 4wd

My '83 drives great whether in 2wd or 4wd, but I have been noticing a strange "grinding/body sheet metal vibration" sound coming from the front passenger side wheel area only when the truck is in 4wd. The fact that the sound is only there while in 4wd means it almost certainly has to be coming from the hub/axle, but there isn't any felt vibration when the sound occurs. The truck is still driving along smoothly. Also, it only does it while in the lower-mid portion of each gear, if that makes sense. I've been down there looking and there is no visible damage, defects, metal shavings, etc.

Just can't seem to pinpoint or ID what is causing it and was hoping maybe this sounded familiar to someone here. Thanks.

Put it up on jackstands and pinpoint the noise.
