Opinions on Weber carb? 32/34 or 38mm?

So it looks like I am getting very close to purchasing a weber carb- I talked to someone at Weber/ Redline (not a reseller) and this person seemed to honestly recommend the DGEV 38 mm over the 32/34mm because I will be driving it at high elevations- (I live in Colorado)- has anyone here had experience with the 38 vs. the 32/34... is it basically a bigger carb, or is it a bigger air intake... am I going to be drowning my engine in fuel if I go with the 38mm? Any opinions/ suggestions are appreciated! I will be mostly using this as a daily driver but I live up a road with very steep hills, drive a lot of dirt and occasional light wheeling and I may use my truck to plow my road this winter, but fuel economy is a strong concern as well.
