Mystery Solved

I got a motor mount for a '79 from AutoZone (Westar Industries EM-2407) which was a perfect fit, and less than $20!! For some reason, my '83 was manufactured with these motor mounts. I looked really carefully, and there is NO evidence of any cab and bed swap onto a '79 frame, and this is a 22R anyway. Everything else about this truck is a '83. Weird.

I am SOOOO happy to have my truck back. I had the old one out already, so EASY install...took a half hour, including fan shroud and air intake re-installation. Drives perfect.

I hauled a load of topsoil minutes later just to celebrate


ROCK AUTO is splitting the shipping with me! They will refund my full purchase, including shipping... I just have to pay to ship back. Good folks. Thank you Rock Auto...
